Back when our cofounder Alper was finishing his Ph.D. in robotics and computer vision at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, he open-sourced his pioneering research to the world. The response was phenomenal, and an idea formed for a company that could deliver accurate 3D scanning into the world. A founding team - Caroline, Alper, Miroslav, and Rasmus - came together and in December 2012, Volumental was born.
