Volumental updates its leadership

Stockholm – January 2016. In preparation for continued strong growth in 2016, Volumental has made some key changes and additions to its leadership team. During the past months we have been successfully testing our products with a large footwear retailer in the USA and with eyewear brand Mykita in Berlin. We are ready to launch our first commercial products in Q1 2016 and have been securing advance orders from customers in North America, Europe and Asia. In light of this Volumental co-founder and CEO Caroline Walerud will take on the role of Executive Chairman, leading the board and investor and public relations, as well as ensuring Volumental continues to recruit and maintain the best talent. VP Business Development, Moritz Schiebold, is stepping up as our new CEO, two and a half years after he joined Volumental as one of our first employees. Moritz holds degrees from SSE and University of St. Gallen and has been instrumental in the growth we have achieved so far.

Additionally, we are excited to announce a number of key hires: Lise Alm is joining our team as VP Operations after 6 years at Spotify.  At Spotify Lise was Legal Counsel - Corporate Affairs, focusing on everything from investment rounds to international expansion. Aleš Jurca joined as Senior Product Owner, bringing with him 15 years of experience in foot scanning and footwear R&D including former roles as Chief of R&D at Alpina and CTO at UCS SafeSize. Lastly, Josef Grahn joined the team as VP Technology (former CTO at Optonova).

As 2016 begins, and with a full pipeline for the months ahead, we are looking to expand our team with three web developers (front-end, web API, and cloud architect), an eyewear expert, and an algorithm developer. See www.volumental.com/jobs

“Moritz is a great leader and I have full confidence in him as the CEO of our company going forward. I’m thrilled to be able to focus on board and strategy work, recruitment, marketing, and fundraising in 2016” - Caroline Walerud

“I am incredibly excited to lead this team of outstanding talent. We have taken great strides in our journey to bring the smoothest and fastest 3D scanning in retail to market and are now starting to reap the benefits. In this new phase, Caroline and I will work in close collaboration to bring Volumental to scale.”- Moritz Schiebold
